Quick Tips for Essential Oils and camping
 
 
Insect Repellant:
Combine 20 drops Purification essential oil, 10 drops Peppermint essential oil,
and about 1/4 teaspoon olive oil or alcohol in a 4-oz spray bottle and fill with
distilled water.  Shake well before spraying on clothing and skin to repel ticks,
fleas, flies, and gnats.  Safe for children and pets.
 
 
First Aid (Essential) Kit:
Lavender essential oil to treat skin (burns, cuts, abrasions) and trauma anxiety;
drying, antiseptic, soothing
Lemon and other citrus essential oils are good cleaning solvents; purify water;
germicidal, anti-parasitic
PanAway essential oil blend relieves bone and muscle pain, bruises, sprains
Peace and Calming essential oil blend reduces trauma anxiety and panic
Peppermint essential oil to treat inflammation, headache, upset stomach,
heartburn, fever, overheating, fatigue; also freshens breath and deodorizes
body

Purification essential oil blend repels insects, neutralizes insect/spider bites;
antiseptic/disinfectant

R.C. or Raven essential oil blends clear a stuffy head or chest

Thieves essential oil blend reduces infection, inflammation

Animal Scents Ointment seals wounds and soothes chapped skin
Bandaids, gauze, distilled water, etc.
 
 
Waterless Troop Wipes:
2 c boiling water
2 tsp plain liquid soap (KidScent or AromaSilk Bath & Shower Gel)
2 tsp plain lotion (KidScent)
1 tsp Tender Tush or 4 drops essential oils (Thieves, Lemon, if for hands;
Peace & Calming, Gentle Baby if for baby or on tender areas like flushable wipes)
 
Cut roll of Bounty paper towels (select-a-size style) in half, then remove cardboard
core.  Pour mixed ingredients over half roll and allow to soak up liquid.  Store in
sealed container and use on campouts, keep in the car, or use for flushable wipes.
 

Poison Plants, Rash Remedies
Quick Tips for Essential Oils and Poison Ivy/Oak/Sumac

Poison Ivy:
Allerzyme (3 1x/day) to prevent or get rid of poison ivy. Cindi

Purification applied neat, 2-3 times/day, directly on the poison ivy site.  It will
generally clear within 2 3 days.  Brenda and Jaci

Purification and Frankincense seemed to dry the sores up quicker than anything.
Also, strengthening my immune system. Sylvia

Lemongrass, Clove and Eucalyptus on the feet; the poison ivy went away in a few
hours.  I didn't put any oils or anything else directly on the poison ivy site.  Karen

Lavender directly on the rash kept it from spreading, calmed the itching and within
a few days the rash was completely gone.  Donna

Dentarome/Dentarome Plus lightly smeared over the irritated area.  Goes on clear,
dries and turns white in about fifteen minutes.  No more than three times a day new over old. I didn't start application until two days after the irritation began and there were significant blisters. Relief was immediate and long lasting. Caleb

LavaDerm spray mist (or mix and chill Aloe Vera and Lavender), Melrose, Lavender

Melrose, Patchouli, Release, Peppermint and Purification are some of the oils that
helped, but what really helped the most was Rehemogen. It is a tincture and will
cleanse the poison out of the blood. He really healed fast once he started that and
now when he gets it we start with Rehemogen right away and it does not get near as
bad! Also using Lavender Shampoo when showering brings great relief! Carol

Forearm started to weep fluid and the surrounding tissue got red and inflamed. I was also starting to itch over other parts of my body. I alternately used Purification and LavaDerm Spray every hour while awake for one day. The next day the area started
to dry out. I continued LavaDerm for another day and the itching and rash was

Purification did help relieve poison ivy itch. Dentarome toothpaste relieved the itching immediately and helped dry up the rash. Since it looked about as attractive as calamine lotion used Purification during the times I was in public, and at home I
spread on the Dentarome. It took care of it completely in just a few days. Z

Valerian by capsule helped with the pain of a poison ivy reaction on her face which

Poison Oak:
Lavender for Poison Oak. I get it quite bad and it usually festers and oozes, is red and inflamed and takes 3 weeks to clear. I usually have to take Prednisone to clear it up.
Since I have been using the oils I have been able to stop the inflammation and oozing and shorten the length of the rash. I had it quite bad a couple of months ago and used R.C. It stopped the spread and some of the redness but when I started using Lavender it immediately stopped the inflammation and itch and it took about 1 week for it to be completely gone. Barbara

Sprayed German Chamomile Floral Water and then put St. Marie's Lavender on site
before going to bed.  Poison oak gone the next morning.  Lya

Peppermint and Roman Chamomile applied just before bed. The next morning the rash
was almost gone. After applying the oils two more times, there was no sign of a poison oak rash.  Frankincense stopped it in its tracks and relieved all of the itching. Lavender soothed it. It didn't spread and was pretty much healed within a week.  Sharon

Dentarome is good for brushing teeth, deodorant, canker sores, poison ivy, mosquito bites, sore bumps on the tongue, toe fungus and sore throats. Carol

Future camping with YLEO's:
I love to camp! I haven't camped with oils yet but this is exactly what I
would do.

I would keep them in a separate small pop can cooler with some
frozen ice packs and towels. If you have to use ice as ice packs don't
last for days, be sure to securely seal your oils with double zip locks.
I would still keep my oils in a travel case though. I would not have
them loose.I think this would help so they don't get too hot or too cold.

What to bring?
Travel Diffuser for your tent and to keep bugs away Purification for a beg repellent and cuts.
Melrose for cuts and bites. Purification will do but I like to have options!
Lavender and Melaleuca, just in case you catch some poison oak like I
did one time.
Peppermint to help you stay cool.
Panaway - if you like to take long hikes like I do.
Lemon to sanitize the pump water. (Most campgrounds have a pump)
Power Meal
Ningxia Red Packets
Thieves Thieves Thieves!!!! That is a must!
Thieves oil to stay healthy!!
Theives Hand Sanitizer and Spray for obvious reasons.

I am sure there are tons more oils and products you can bring, but if
you couldn't bring anything but the 9 Everyday Oils, I would say that is
all you would really need for essentials. Purification and Thieves could
replace the Melrose.

RutaVaLa Essential Oils made me "passionate about my work"

My story about RutaVaLa.

I defended my Ph.D. research about 3 weeks ago, in an exam in which I presented my results
for 30 minutes, and answered oral questions for another 90 minutes. I
have myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune neuromuscular disease which
causes potentially all voluntary muscles to weaken very rapidly with
relatively little exertion, and it is worse as the beginning of menses
approaches. My defence was the day before beginning of menses, and
my most prominent symptom is loss of control of lips and tongue, so I
slur. I prepared that morning by using Dragon Time bath gel in the
shower, followed by Dragon Time oil over the ovaries, Valor on my feet,
and RutaVaLa over my thymus. RutaVaLa was the new addition to my
usual routine. I did slur through the event, but it was substantially less
than it would have been without Dragon Time, and I was so confident
that I didn't care. The RutaVaLa made me relaxed, confident, alert, and
passionate about my work, and I believe it came through in the defence.
I passed, by the way, and now always use RutaVaLa when going to
meetings where I need to be relaxed, alert, and confident.

Copaiba (Copal) Oil

This amazing oil hails from the wilds of Brazil, from the plant Copaifera reticulata. I first became excited about this oil when I attended Marc Schreuder's spontaneous after-hours lecture at the 2008 annual convention in the USA. Marc is Gary Young's research scientist, and he spoke with enormous excitement about Copal oil. Here are my notes:

Copal is the only essential oil which is not steam distilled - it's tapped sustainably from the heartwood of the tree, so it's still "living" when it is extracted!!! It's never been sold in the USA or Australia until today.

It's safe for ingestion - it's a legal food additive in the USA. Copal is excellent for gastric protection (protects from stomach ulcers), and can be used for colitis.

Copal has similar properties to helichrysum, Melissa, and neroli oils, only Copal is better. It is one of the most powerful essential oils studied for inflammation - twice as strong as wintergreen, yet so gentle on the skin it feels like butter! In a peer review paper in France, Copal was listed as the second most powerful oil against inflammation (second only to Myrrh resin).

This is what started me on my journey to discover a source of Copal oil.

When I finished with Gary in Ecuador on a recent trip, I took a trip to the jungle of Brazil...and guess what I found there??? A supplier of Copal!!!

The way we can guarantee the quality of the oil is to stand over them while they cook the oil, make sure they are doing it the way we want, then take a sample while they are cooking that particular batch that we are witnessing and we take it back to the lab and get a GC analysis. And this then becomes the master analysis that we compare all future batches to, to make sure that future suppliers aren't adulterating the oil when we are not watching.

There are many varieties of Copal, however there is only one variety which is powerful - that's the variety comprising 60% of the anti-inflammatory sesquiterpene called "beta caryophyllene". All the other varieties of Copal are only 9% beta caryophyllene, so won't have the same anti-inflammatory action. There is only one other essential oil which has anywhere near 60% beta caryophyllene, and that's Clove oil...but because of clove oil's numbing properties, it's not always appropriate to use. Copal is therefore more versatile.

 Hi Everyone!

I have had excellent results with the following protocol that was shared by Gary Young in a class in Wyoming in 1994 when someone asked him what to use to ease depression...

I had one lady who was having several panic attacks a day, and they stopped the moment she started using this protocol. In the next month, she had 1... It was like a miracle.

White Angelica - a single drop in one hand, rub the hands together, and brush over the head (lightly touching the hair, over the face, onto the shoulders, the chest, brushing all the way down the body, lightly touching the body, right over the clothes, as though applying an "angelic shield."

Anyone who has these 4 oils - go put them on now. Why wait until you're having a bad day?

And write this protocol down. It's the best one I've got.

VitaGreen - The Super Food of Super Supplements

VitaGreen provides one of the widest spectrums of naturally
occurring nutrients known to man. Oh sure, there are other
"green food" supplements out there on the market, and they
are good. But, friend, wait until you read about VitaGreen.
If so called "green food" supplements are called "super"

Dr. Yohishide Hagiwara, a leading authority on health food and
green foods, said, "It was clear to me, then, that the leaves of the
cereal grasses provide the nearest thing this planet offers to the
perfect food. For reasons of palatability, higher nutrient content,
and favorable harvesting features, green barley stands out as the
best among these."

Green barley grass also contains chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been
studied for its potential as a deodorant, in stimulating tissue
growth,
and in stimulating red blood cells in connection with blood supply.
Perhaps most remarkable is the similarity between chlorophyll
and the red pigment in blood. Research in the 1940s demonstrated
that the two pigments react the same during breakdown.

According to an article in the Journal of the National Cancer
Institute (Jan. 4, 1995), chlorophyll fed to laboratory animals
reduces absorption of three dietary carcinogens: heterocyclic
amines (found in cooked muscle meats), polycyclic hydrocarbons
(found in smoked and barbecued foods), and aflatoxin (a mold on
peanuts). The chlorophyll formed complex compounds with the
carcinogens while they were still in the digestive tract, limiting
their
bioavailability. Chlorophyll has also been found to reduce fecal,
urinary, and body odor in geriatric patients.

But VitaGreen has much more going for it than Barley grass, it's
primary ingredient is Spirulina. Spirulina is 58 times richer in
organic Iron than raw spinach and 28 times richer than raw beef
liver! Filled with Beta-Carotene (Pro Vitamin A), Spirulina is 25
times richer than raw carrots. It contains a spectrum of every
natural antioxidant known, including: the antioxidant vitamins B-1
and B-6; the minerals zinc, manganese and copper; the amino acid
methionine; and the superantioxidants beta-carotene, vitamin E
and trace element selenium.

Spirulina is also nature's richest whole-food source of Gamma
Linolenic Acid (GLA). Its oils are 3 times richer in GLA than
evening primrose oil. Studies have indicated that GLA helps lower
blood cholesterol and high blood pressure and eases such
conditions as arthritis, premenstrual pain, eczema and other
skin conditions.

The combination of Spirulina and Barley grass separates VitaGreen
from the super green food supplement shelf, but this still does not
explain why Young Living's VitaGreen is the super supplement of
green food supplements. So what IS the secret?
- Essential Oils!

So what you say? Well experience has shown that before putting
essential oils in VitaGreen, there was a 42% blood absorption
